EVENT GUIDE TOP 5 From Queens to Dracula

As winter draws to a close, the cold weather certainly hasn’t followed suit. Warm up this week with our selection of awesome events taking place all over the city. These events feature in our Event Guide which we’re always updating and improving – send us an email at: [email protected] if you notice anything missing or would like us to plug your gig.

1. Queens of the Stone Age

One of California’s many iconic rock groups QOTSA play Perth Arena with C.W. Stoneking next Wednesday evening in what is bound to be a loud, proud and wild show as the lads are wont to provide. Be sure not to miss this – who knows when big touring acts such as these will come back to the world’s most isolated city?

2. Thelma Plum

Indie queen Thelma Plum is providing a lovely assortment of shows to the people of WA, performing at Mojos Bar this evening and Amplifier Bar on Saturday. If you’re keen for a bit of a road trip, she’s in Margaret River on Friday night where she’ll play The River. Three opportunities to see Thelma is triple the reason to catch her shows this week.

3. G Flip

One year ago, G Flip was entirely unknown. Flash forward to this year and she’s all people are talking about, particularly on the Js. To see what all the hype is about for yourself, head down to The Sewing Room on Saturday night for a stellar show from the Unearthed star.

4. Dracula

The West Australian Ballet is putting their spin on Bram Stoker’s classic, beginning tonight and running until the 22nd at His Majesty’s Theatre. For a full list of days and performance times, click here.

5. Live at the BBRC

The Bayswater Bowling and Recreation Club has joined forces with the Baysie Rollers and The Shed to bring live music to the town, and their latest gig is taking place this Sunday evening with an alt-country twang featuring The Jaycos and Holy Smoke. If lower-key shows with cheap snacks and drinks sounds appealing to you, round off your week by supporting this awesome local event.
