Crowded House lock in headline show at Fremantle Prison

Iconic rockers Crowded House have announced a special standalone show at Fremantle Prison on Friday, December 5.

The new date comes in response to overwhelming demand for tickets to the band’s WA appearance at the sold-out Red Hot Summer festival alongside a line-up featuring Angus and Julia Stone, The Church, The Waifs, and Mark Seymour.

The performance will be set within the historic walls of Fremantle Prison, one of the largest surviving convict prisons in the world today and Western Australia’s only world heritage-listed building.

Formed in Melbourne in 1986, Crowded House have sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and earned a string of accolades, including a Brit Award, 13 ARIA Awards, three Aotearoa Music Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award. Their global hits Don’t Dream It’s Over and Something So Strong remain radio staples decades after their release.

Following a hiatus in the late ’90s, the band reunited in 2007 and have continued to evolve, most recently with the 2024 release of their award-nominated eighth studio album, Gravity Stairs. Produced with Steven Schram, the album features founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, Mitchell Froom, and Finn’s sons, Elroy and Liam.

Crowded House play Fremantle Prison on Friday, December 5, 2025. Tickets are on sale Friday, July 18 from ticketmaster.com
