The local arts community are continuing in their efforts to raise money for those affected by the country’s horrific bushfires. Following the announcement of several shows last week, bars, venues, cinemas and more around Perth are holding events where you can enjoy yourself and raise money for those in need at the same time.

Featuring awesome acts like The Kill Devil Hills (pictured above), Abbe May, Love Junkies‘ first gig in forever and Downsyde, the proceeds from the ticket sales will be split 50/50 to WIRES and Salvation Army‘s Bushfire Appeals. Badlands will also be contributing $1 from each drink sold to the organisations. For more info and tickets head to Oztix for Friday, January 17 or Saturday, January 18.

The Bird will have live music on Sunday, January 19 for their Bushfire Fundraiser event featuring Demon Days, Hyclass, Lana Rothnie and more. All door sales will go to WIRES and Australian Red Cross Disaster Recovery and Relief. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Australian cinemas are also helping raise funds on Sunday, January 19 at participating venues including Ace Cinemas. $2 from every ticket sold will be shared across three Australian charities doing incredible work; Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal, Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery and RSPCA Bushfire Appeal. Movies showing on that day include Frozen 2, Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker, Jumanji: The Next Level, and others.

Down south, Settlers Tavern in Margaret River is having a Bushfire Appeal Fundraising Concert this Thursday, January 16 from 6pm. Money raised will help Red Cross deliver recovery programs, provide emergency assistance, help communities prepare for future disasters, as well as provide training and equipment for their volunteers.

Last but not least, With Love From WA, the all-day event on Sunday, February 16 at The Rosemount Hotel announced last week, has also added a huge second round to their line up. A total of 46 artists are now donating their time and talent, with End of Fashion, Sly Withers, Odette Mercy and many others leading the second announcement. Full line up and tickets from Oztix.

X-Press Magazine salutes the brave men and women fighting the horrific blazes across the country and fully supports anyone helping out with aid, whether it is through music, art or otherwise.
