Brisbane’s Full Flower Moon Band bring Megaflower Tour to Fremantle

Brisbane rockers Full Flower Moon Band are hitting Mojo’s Bar this Sunday, September 22, in a recently announced show as part of their 2024 Megaflower Tour. The tour, which kicked off in August, celebrates the release of their third studio album, Megaflower, which dropped in July.

The five-piece will be joined on the night by special guests Peter Bibby and GRUB.

Megaflower comes nearly three years after the band’s 2021 album Diesel Forever, a record that earned them national recognition and took them to festival stages across Australia. Led by frontwoman Kate “Babyshakes” Dillon, Megaflower represents a new direction for the band, blending elements of surrealism, psychedelic rock, and melodic balladry.

“I could have easily not challenged myself, but I made a point of going through a real metamorphosis with every song,” Dillon said. “For the first time, I didn’t have a grand concept going into making an album—I just had a point to prove.”

The album also marks the first time Full Flower Moon Band’s live ensemble was involved in the creation of the album in-studio, with Dillon joined by guitarists Caleb Widener and Christian Driscoll, bassist Marli Smales, and drummer Luke Hanson. “I really appreciate my bandmates for sticking around and being on this ride with me,” she said. “It’s been epic—it’s exciting being an underground, rock’n’roll band pulled from the West End of Brisbane onto the world stage.”

Additionally, in partnership with Dillon, the album was produced and mixed by award-winning producer Tony Buchen, known for his work with rock legends The Smashing Pumpkins and Aussie icons Kirin J Callinan and Troye Sivan.
