Bloodwood and Platypus bring prog-metal showcase to Bridgetown
Perth ambient metal band Bloodwood will bring their signature brand of heavy, atmospheric grit to the Llama Lounge in Bridgetown on Saturday, January 24.
Joining the bill are alt-psych rockers, Platypus, who will add their own unique flavour to the night’s proceedings in this special free entry event. Together, the two acts promise an evening of heavy tunes that celebrate Western Australia’s heavy music scene.
“We’re stoked to be heading back to Bridgetown,” said Bloodwood. “The Llama Lounge has a great vibe and we had such a fun time last year and Llama Lounge is an awesome bar run by even better people. We absolutely can’t wait to unleash a very long and indulgent set, we might even run some brand new tunes for this very special long weekend show!”
After opening as a record store in 2022, Karma Llama Records expanded to incorporate a live music space and bar in 2024. The venue owners say they hope to continue supporting original Australian music as much as they can with the new venture, with previous live shows at the venue featuring Psychonaut, Amberdown, Ruby Gill and more.
Bloodwood play at Llama Lounge on Saturday, January 24, 2026. For more information head to the Facebook event page, or check out Bloodwood’s latest tracks at bloodwood.bandcamp.com
