In only its second year, Australian Women in Music Awards has become a beacon of women’s contributions and achievements across all areas of the Australian music industry. Among the winners this year was Western Australian artist and photographer Tashi Hall (pictured above).
Special congratulations to multi-media talent Hall, a talented local songwriter in her own right, who took out two awards for Film Maker and Music Photography. She has worked with over 500 local, interstate and international bands and been invited to photograph for independent publications and magazines across Australia, Canada and the United States. Since teaching herself filmmaking skills in early 2015, Hall has directed, filmed and produced over 15 music videos, documentaries and promotional videos for the WA music scene, working with West Australian artists such as Dan Howls, Siobhan Cotchin and a slue of others.
Diversity and talent of women in the music industry took centre stage at AWMA presentation, with 15 award categories presented. With performances by some of Australia’s top female musicians such as internationally renown Australian soprano Cheryl Baker. Congratulations to all of the Australian Women in Music Award winners and nominees.
