Angelina Curtis unveils new alt-pop single i caved

Perth singer-songwriter Angelina Curtis has returned with i caved, an intimate alt-pop slow-burn exploring the pull of someone you know you should leave behind but can’t quite let go.

Produced by WA producer Calvin Bennett, the track is the first taste of Curtis’ debut EP, still, and showcases the hallmarks that have defined her songwriting to date: angelic vocals, emotionally charged storytelling and lyrics delivered with confessional precision.

Following her 2025 indie-pop single Stereo, i caved arrives after a remarkable run of achievements, including a WAM Song of the Year win, six years of Song of the Year nominations, a Top 8 finish on Australian Idol at just 15, and international recognition through the International Songwriting Competition and Unsigned Only. Now 18, Curtis is stepping into a new chapter, both personally and creatively.

A key influence on her music is synesthesia, a phenomenon that causes her to associate sounds with colours. Each song carries its own visual palette, and i caved was no exception.

“The key of A major has always shown up as deep pink-red in my synesthesia—the colour of a wound that keeps reopening—so it felt like the only key a song this painful could live in,” she said.

The next single from still is due in late June, with the full EP arriving in late July. Curtis will then celebrate the release with a full-band headline launch show in late August.
