Alt-rock legends CAKE announce sweet return
Californian alt-rock legends CAKE are set to make their long-awaited return to Australia for the first time in 15 years. Their tour will kick off in Perth at Ice Cream Factory on Sunday, March 14, before moving on to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The tour, An Evening with CAKE, will feature two full sets spanning the band’s iconic catalogue, including classics such as The Distance, Short Skirt/Long Jacket, Never There, Frank Sinatra, I Will Survive and more.
More than three decades after forming, CAKE continue to chart their own course. Their most recent album, Showroom of Compassion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and they are currently finishing work on their ninth studio album, due for release in 2027.
“Although Australia is a distant continent for us, our memories of its wonderful audiences remain clear,” said trumpeter and keyboardist Vincent DiFiore. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to be part of that vibrant music scene once again.”
CAKE’s An Evening with CAKE tour hits Ice Cream Factory on Sunday, March 14, 2027. Tickets are on sale Friday, July 10 from destroyalllines.com
