It seems newcomers POW! Negro have had a very exciting and busy last few days as things are going from awesome to amazing. On Thursday night at the WAM Awards the six piece took home “Most Popular New Act” and “Most Popular Live Act” (nice work guys) plus to top it all off they played the Saturday Spectacular Block Party to a very delighted audience.
With all this excitement there now comes even more news; it was announced that the band are releasing a brand new single titled Hidle Ho which will have its launch party at Mojos Bar in Fremantle on Friday, 25th of November. The single follows up from the track Racketball that seems the band merge into more of a jazz and hip-hop mix which see vocal style fall between the energetic elements of Zac De La Rocha and the funk, street vibe of Mos Def.
The launch of Hidle Ho will be the band’s first headline show which will see support from The Southern River Band, Corduroy Club & Ben Auger. With this is mind it’s said, and I quote, “this will be a show not to miss”. Presale tickets are now available from oztix.com or Door sales $15.
