ALT-J Postpone Australian tour

alt-J
have announced they are postponing their Australian tour. The UK art rockers were scheduled to be in the country later this month with headlining shows in major cities in support of their latest album The Dream. The tour included a long-awaited Perth show at HBF Stadium, on Thursday, September 29 which is now due to happen next year.

The tour is now scheduled to happen in April and May 2023, “due to the new and evolving logistical challenges of touring in a post pandemic world,” said the band in a statement via promoters Frontier Touring.

The trio said the decision had been made “after much debate” and apologised to fans and ticketholders. “We are so sorry to disappoint all our fans Down Under who have already bought tickets for these shows, expecting them to take place next month. You have always been so supportive and we are really looking forward to seeing you next year.”

The new tour will now wrap up at HBF Stadium on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Ticketholders are advised tickets remain valid for the new dates but those unable to attend will be able to access refunds before Wednesday, September 28.

alt-J’s new album The Dream was released in February. It is the fourth studio album for alt-J, following on from the chart-topping success of Relaxer (2017), This Is All Yours (2014) and An Awesome Wave (2012).

The X-Press review for The Dream said it was “alt-J’s most accomplished since their debut and their most mature to date.”

alt-J’s Australian tour has been postponed until next year, with a new date now scheduled at HBF Stadium, on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.com.au
