The Beautiful Losers accompanied by vocalist Nikki Jones will be playing the Duke of George in East Freo on August 17, to launch their latest album Music For Emily. Their album will showcase an original musical tour-de-force which integrates itself with the poetry of Emily Dickinson. The Beautiful Losers will be joined by special guests Skin Horse and Damon Hurst to open the show.
Local Perth Performer, musician, musical director, arranger, composer and writer Nikki Jones will be reciting Dickinson’s penetrating literature pieces whilst The Beautiful Losers play haunting music to accompany her delivery.
Nikki Jones has a long history within the performing arts, having played the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, since 2005 she has been one half of electronica duo Late Night Shopping (composers, arrangers and musical directors for WAYTCo’s Another Twin in 2013 and Away in 2017), and composed the music and soundscape for James Berlyn’s performance piece Troll, and I Know You’re There for Perth Festival in 2016.
