RTRFM’S HEAVENLY BODIES 25 years of Ambient Zone

Fremantle Festival: 10 Nights in Port
, kicks off next Friday, July 12 and goes until Saturday, July 21. 10 nights in Port starts in style with RTRFM’s Heavenly Bodies: Celebrating 25 Years of Ambient Zone. The event features an inspired line up of beautiful, local ambient acts including Naik, Masonik, Nika Mo (pictured above), Daisies Net, Ryan Beno and Emlyn Johnson.

Head on down to St John’s Church in Fremantle to celebrate 25 years of ambient music, weird experimentations and soul moving curation from RTRFM’s Ambient Zone. Enjoy as the hall fills with the wonders of some of Perth’s finest ambient and experimental musicians in the stunning surrounds.

Naik is a multi-instrumentalist back after a two-year stint out of the spotlight, to present some new tunes at Heavenly Bodies. Expect a special ambient set with mesmerising sounds and astounding visuals. Ryan Beno is a band of jazz-fuelled post rock vibes made up of a stack of talented WA musicians. Masonik is an outfit who has kicked around the experimental Perth music scene for over 10 years creating jazz and experimental music that push at the boundaries of both genres.

Daisies Net uses multiple instruments to create layered and deeply textural lo-fi music with an emphasis on storytelling and the human experience. Nika Mo is a songwriter of the highest order, making magical folk music that will fill the church. Also, catch the sounds of Emlyn Johnson as he takes you into his wonderfully magic and odd mind with a collection of country tinged ambient tunes with his mate Edo.

Heavenly Bodies: Celebrating 25 Years of Ambient Zone takes over St John’s Church in Fremantle, Friday July 12. Ticket from rtrfm.oztix.com.au.
