Perth’s most decadent festival for lovers of divine fashion and designer couture is upon us. Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2018 runs across various locations, from September 5 – 15.
This year pays tribute to TPFF’s 20 year anniversary with a carefully curated program celebrating fashion of the past, present and future in inimitable style, and a variety of events on offer from until the promised opulence of a fabulous closing night on Friday, September 14 at Fashion Paramount, Optus Stadium. Some of the world’s biggest names have been launched by the festival, and Perth talent is always worth backing, so jump on in. The waters are warmer than you might expect if you’re a TPFF newbie.
Free events abound for Perth fashionistas, and this weekend’s festival line up is jam-packed with eleganza. Starting on Friday at 12.30pm with a special free taste of the 10/10 hit musical Aladdin, the City of Perth plays host to a cavalcade of delights. From off-the-rack fashion looks and wearable trends, to runways featuring up-and-coming talent from around the city, to the much anticipated Aboriginal runway which showcases Aboriginal culture, art and stories as seen through fashion; there’s a little bit of everything. TPFF ambassador Famous Sharron will also be on hand for all your selfies.
Be sure to head on over to the brand new, exquisite QT Hotel for the stunning photographic Fascinating Exhibition, created by Perth local Michelle Church of Atelier Eight millinery, and renowned photographer Nikosono, where some prints are available for sale if you desire some millinery whimsy for your walls. While you’re there, soak up the fabulousness of the many bars and restaurants on offer, including the gorgeous rooftop bar.
Ticketed events for the festival are also always in great demand, so be sure to check the website for details. Opening and closing nights are always fabulous and a sure bet, but worthy mentions include 20 years of ae’lkemi and Future Runway.
