YOU SAW THEM FIRST Opening minds at Freo.Social

You Saw Them First
is a new monthly night of live music with a difference, kicking off with a launch show at Freo.Social on Thursday, April 11. The unique concept, devised by Open Minds Music, offers emerging artists the opportunity to take the stage and play their original songs live, often for the first time ever, backed by an experienced house band.

The project seeks to identify local artists with great promise and potential and give them that much-needed first step into a musical career. Through being selected to perform on the night they will not only be introduced to local music fans, but also gain valuable experience onstage, with the added benefit of having a professional team producing and recording their original songs.

The Fremantle-based music promotions company Open Minds Music are seeking applications from aspiring artists who are interested in participating in their program. It offers the benefits of sessions with the Open Minds Music director and house band, stage experience, a free music demo of three original songs and a cover, plus invaluable connections and exposure in the music industry. To express your interest apply HERE.

In addition to the emerging stars you’ll see on the launch of You Saw Them First, you can also a catch a set from local R&B sensation Jamilla (pictured). The night also be will be MC’ed by multiple WAMAward winner Timothy Nelson, who will introduce the artists and no doubt get the audience involved!

The night is also open to all ages and even offers a ‘Dinner and Show’ option (check out the ticketing link below) for those who want to catch the greatest emerging talent from Perth in a relaxed environment that is welcoming for everybody.
