1. Sam Smith
The British crooner and global megastar takes over our newly renamed RAC Arena next Wednesday with good friend Paloma Faith in tow.
2. The Wombats
Many a joke has been made recently of The Wombats‘ propensity for touring our nation, but we haven’t heard any complaints as of yet. Catch them tonight (Thursday) at the picturesque Red Hill Auditorium to make sure they continue their touring streak.
3. The Betoota Advocate Roadshow
You know ’em and love ’em for their highly relevant satire, but now the online paper has provided for the real die-hards and made the transition onto the stage. They’ll be at the Astor Theatre Friday evening for all your comedy needs.
4. The Uni Goonies Film Festival
The Uni Goonies Film Festival exhibits the ‘best of the best’ short films made by young people this year. Held at the State Library, tickets are a steal at $10/$15 and it all goes into supporting these up-and-coming filmmakers.
5. Local launches
This week in launches we have the ever-wonderful Pat Chow (pictured) launching their album at The Bird, The Reductors coming through with a double single launch at the Bassendean Hotel, The Alexander’s Band’s album launch at The Bird and Streetlight Foxes offering up their latest EP at The Aardvark. Plenty of choices for plenty of tastes.
