BETH ORTON Crying your name at the Rosie

Much loved English songstress Beth Orton is heading to WA in June as part of her national tour kicking off in Perth on June 7 at the Rosemount Hotel.

Known for her folktronica sound, Orton rose to fame after the release of her 1999 album Central Reservation, featuring singles Stolen Car and Central Reservation, but is perhaps best remembered for her single She Cries Your Name off her 1996 breakthrough Trailer Park and several collaborations with the likes of the Chemical Brothers.

Orton will perform with a full band on the tour, sideshows to her performance at Sydney’s Vivid Festival on Tuesday, June 13 at the Sydney Opera House. It is her first appearance in Perth since playing solo “Live at the Quarry” Amphitheatre in 2012.

She will perform a set spanning her entire career playing songs off Trailer Park, Central Reservation, Daybreaker, Comfort of Strangers and Sugaring Season, through to her remarkable 2016 album Kidsticks, a revitalised return to the indie and folktronica she made her name with, produced by Andrew Hung of Fuck Buttons.

Beth Orton plays Rosemount Hotel on June 7. Tickets are available from rosemounthotel.oztix.com.au.
