AUSTRALIAN TATTOO EXPO Your inkredible guide

The biggest tattoo and body art event on the Perth calendar returns this month from Friday, September 14 to Sunday, September 16. The Australian Tattoo Expo will be bringing the most talented local, national and international tattoo artists together under one roof at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre for an unmissable three-day showcase.

Jackson May from Youngbloods Tattoo Studio

The line up will feature over 250 artists including locals Jackson May from Youngbloods Tattoo Studio, Liz Hapi from Bloodlines Ink and Lauren Melina from Adorned Empire.

Some of the visiting artists to look out for are Kristian Kimonides from Leviathan Tattoo Gallery and Matt Curzon, but with so many unique styles on display, there’s something for everyone. Check out the full line up and each of the artist profiles here.

Be sure to head down to meet the artists and watch them tattoo live, purchase merch and prints from them directly, get an opportunity to research new tattoo trends or even treat yourself to some fresh ink on the spot.

The entertainment is even more jam packed than previous years, with frontman from Chasing Ghosts, Jimmy Kyle, hosting the event. The Fuel Girls are a very special addition this year having toured with the Expo last year to a crowd in awe of their insane pyro performances. Hailing from the UK, Yusura and the girls will be performing two mind-blowing live performances every day.

On Saturday you can catch the Sullen Angels showing off their tattoos as part of their national competition tour. And to cap it off with something extra fun, Sunday will feature the debut of The Sh!ttest Tattoo Competition – with the promise of prizes for the biggest mistakes.

As usual, tattoo artists will be battling it out for points to come out on top, with the overall winner taking home $10,000 in prize money after the fourth and final round in Melbourne at the end of the year.

The Australian Tattoo Expo is proud to support charity partner Survivor’s Ink, who will be bringing their non-profit project to the Expo for the very first time, providing breast cancer survivors with access to realistic cosmetic tattooing to aid in their physical and emotional recovery, completely free of charge.
