XR:WA 2022 Expo Director’s top picks


Now in its fourth year, XR:WA returns in 2022 to showcase the ideas, works, technology and constantly evolving environment of the VR, AR and digital screen industry. The program runs at multiple locations including the WA Museum Boola Bardip, PICA, Scitech Planetarium and the State Library of WA from Thursday, September 15 to Sunday, September 18.

Designed to explore the opportunity and possibility of digital screen technology, the major conference and subsequent workshops, speaking events, and interactive experiences aim to discuss the impact and opportunities for VR, AR and digital-screen technologies across a number of industries.

Path 99: An amazing full dome Planetarium experience with the filmmaker present.

Hovergarden: I’ve seen what these folks do, and for us, they’re bringing over 30 new independent computer games from around the world.

Prosthetic Reality V2: 20 Amazing Augmented Reality artworks from Australian and international artworks.

Biolum: Featuring narration by Charlotte Rampling, this is a stunning interactive sci-fi experience in virtual reality. Amazing.

El Caballo Blanco and Perth Modulated: A City in Flux: Two projects commissioned by the State Library WA and Revelation Film Festival/XR:WA looking to the lost histories of Perth in VR.
