WA’s finest original music talent to take over Northbridge as WAMFest returns for 2023

WAMFest, the key showcasing weekend as part of WA Music Month is back this year, taking over live music venues and outdoor stages with WA’s finest original musical talent from Friday, November 17 to Saturday, November 18. Over two nights, 65 acts will perform at Northbridge live music venues and on two outdoor stages in the WA Museum Boola Bardip precinct.

On the first night, WAMFest Friday Showcases will take over The Rechabite, The Bird, Lynott’s Lounge and Convenients. The sounds of homecoming heroes Jebediah headline the program on the Perth leg of their national tour at this special ticketed show. Punters can also take in free events at the other listed venues to see Siobhan Cotchin, Scalphunter, Ratking and more performing across the evening.

On Saturday, WAMFest welcomes two new outdoor locations, which will form the heart of the day’s event program. Museum Street will be closed to host an epic street party featuring live sets from Ra Ra Viper, CHISEKO, Weirritt Blak and Ghost Care on the ECU Stage.

Over at WA Museum Boola Bardip, be entertained by Angie Colman and Sgt. Hulka before the City Room is taken over by triple j at 5pm to present Great Gable, DICE, Mali Jo$e, smol fish and ANESU, all performing free at this all ages event.

Get down to the Rechabite Hall on Saturday night to catch Noah Dillon, Joan & The Giants, and kick on late at The Goodwill Club with the VOLTA stage, co-presented in collaboration with Hearts of  Darkness and late-night set from PROJECT BEXX in the Hall.

The Bird features Selfless Orchestra and Lo, and check out North Metro TAFE and WAAPA acts, such as Shorehaven, Darling Joan, Zarah Sarina and Lucas Jones across multiple stages. At Universal Bar, catch Redcliffe and The Adjustment, while just around the corner at James Street Bar will host the I Heart Songwriting Club Showcase.

“We are thrilled once again to feature our triple j stage and introduce a new stage  presented by ECU,” said Executive Director Livia Carré. “I was stunned that we received over 300+ applications to play at WAMFest, highlighting the  abundance of talent we have here in WA.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to the dedicated team here at WAM who  have worked tirelessly to bring this all together. Special thanks to our WAMFest Programmer Luke Rinaldi and Event  Coordinator Kimi Murphy for their exceptional efforts in making this event possible. We are anticipating an epic night  celebrating the musical talent born out of our beautiful state of WA.”
