The Watercolour Society of WA announces 45th Annual Awards Exhibition
The Watercolour Society of WA has announced its 45th Annual Awards Exhibition, with the event hitting Perth City Farm from Thursday, September 4, to Sunday, September 7.
With over 200 paintings in various categories on display, members of the society are set to present their newest and best work to date under the theme of Permaculture Ethics, relating to earth care, people care and fair share.
The exhibition will be opened by Jo Trilling from the ABC Drive program, with still life, abstract, and innovative art on display across the three days, as well as the annual portraiture winner’s work. Attendees are welcome to try watercolours on the ‘try me’ table, which will be set up with members to chat to and be guided by.
There will also be multiple live demonstrations going on throughout the exhibition, with opportunities for attendees to chat to the artists about their work.
Since 1980, The Watercolour Society of WA has promoted public interest in watercolour painting, with regular exhibitions of members work throughout the year, including the annual Exhibition for Prizes and Awards. The society promoted painting in the open as a group (En plein air) late last year, with paint-out sites including Perth City Farm and Earthwise in Subiaco, with En plein air painting a category of the exhibition for the last few years.
The Watercolour Society of WA’s Annual Awards Exhibition hits Perth City Farm from Thursday, September 4, to Sunday, September 7, 2025. For more info visit watercolourswa.org.au
