THE TERROR, LIVE

The Terror, Live
The Terror, Live

Everyone knows current affairs programs are a pretty terrifying phenomenon by themselves, but if a civil engineer-turned-terrorist took a city hostage via Today Tonight, you can guarantee you’d be tuning in. That’s the premise of The Terror, Live: a disgraced news anchor, demoted to covering whatever the Seoul equivalent of “neighbours from hell” segments is, is informed by an anonymous caller that a major bridge is about to be bombed. When the information isn’t shared – and the bridge is subsequently destroyed – Yoon Young-Hwa does what any reporter trying to save his reputation does: gives the terrorist a prime-time interview slot and winds up with a target on his back. Starring Ha Jung-Woo (also seen in mega-hit The Chaser – the Korean thriller, not the Howard detractors), it’s an intense story of control (and lack thereof). It’s out on DVD from Icon Entertainment, and if you’d like to win a copy, enter via the X-Press Digital app.
