The Jesus and Mary Chain announce 40th anniversary Australian tour

The Jesus and Mary Chain will mark their 40th anniversary in 2024 with a return tour to Australia and New Zealand this July and August. The tour kicks off in Auckland and hits Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping up at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Thursday, August 8.

Formed by brothers Jim and William Reid in the early 1980s, The Jesus and Mary Chain have consistently defied musical boundaries, blending intense melodies with raw emotion to create a mesmerising sonic experience and timeless anthems such as Just Like Honey, April Skies and Happy When It Rains.

From their origins on the outskirts of Glasgow, The Jesus and Mary Chain have gone on to influence many of music’s greatest minds and are consistently referenced as a chief source of inspiration for the likes of My Bloody Valentine and Nirvana.

The Jesus and Mary Chain will arrive fresh off the release of their first studio album in seven years, Glasgow Eyes.
