Teenage Dads announce national tour for sophomore album Majordomo

Teenage Dads have announced their sophomore album, Majordomo, is set for release on Friday, August 23.

To celebrate the new record, the Victorian four-piece will kick off their Majordomo AU/NZ Headline Tour on the album’s release day, taking it to major cities across Australia and New Zealand, playing their biggest venues to date. The tour lands in Perth for a show at Astor Theatre on Friday, August 30, with special support from Adelaide rising star Aleksiah.

“A Majordomo is a person whose job is to make arrangements or take charge for another: someone who runs the enterprise,” the band said of the new record. “We wanted to take that word and explore themes of control: how sometimes you might be the majordomo seizing the day, and others you are falling from the sky in a box, unable to do anything.”

Featuring recent singles Weaponz, I Like It, Tale of a Man, and Speedracer, fans are told they can expect a fusion of different soundscapes ranging from the more nostalgic, colourful, and light songs of more recent times to the punchy, alt-rock anthems that pay tribute to the band’s earlier sound.

To mark the occasion, Teenage Dads have revealed a new single and video as a taster from the new record, Boyfriend. Directed by drummer Vincent Kinna, the video clip reflects the nostalgia that radiates from the new single. “The Boyfriend video formed in combination with the lyrics, themes, and the feelings I felt when listening to the song—wholesomeness, vulnerability, melancholy, and things like that,” he explained.

Teenage Dads’ second album Majordomo is out on on Friday, August 23, 2024. The Majordomo AU/NZ Headline Tour hits Astor Theatre on Friday, August 30. Tickets are on sale now from teenagedadsofficial.com
