Ten Love Songs
Sonnet Sound

Screaming emotion within a modern interpretation of dance and disco, Susanne Sundfør has taken yet another evolutionary leap with her latest album, Ten Love Songs, this time into a mainstream radio pool.

The Norwegian pop star is quickly becoming a big name internationally, with an outstanding and unavoidable voice that powers through all of her tracks no matter how many layers are thrown in behind it. Her sixth album is well thought-out; delicate, yet powerful. Despite starting with the less-then-effective track Darlings, which ends right as it is about to kick off, the following tracks Accelerate and lead single, Fade Away, are a brilliant example of effective synth layering and dramatic ascensions. Silencer, despite its instrumental charm comes across as uneventful filler, but is quickly saved by dancefloor track, Kamikaze, with an infectious chorus and boppy beat.

Finishing in unexpected and enjoyable fashion is the otherworldly Insects, with erratic sound samples behind Sundfør’s harmonic and angelic voice.
