Strings in Subi to bring free live music to the heart of Subiaco
See Subiaco has teamed up with local boutique event producer Tender is the Night to present Strings in Subi, a day of free, family-friendly pop-up concerts in the heart of Subiaco on Saturday, March 23.
The Tender Strings Quartet will accompany a series of acclaimed local artists throughout the day as they perform arrangements of their songs by Western Australian composers.
The trail of shows starts at the Subi Farmers Market at 10am with multi-award-winning country artist Natasha Shanks from The Little Lord Street Band.
At 12pm, Postal Walk will come alive with the stunning three-part harmonies of folk artists Simone and Girlfunkle. The performance will take place close to local cafés, book shops, record stores and other specialty boutiques along Rokeby Road.
At 2.30pm, Strings in Subi will bring the indie sounds of Joe Caddy of Figurehead and Tanaya Harper to Golden West Brewing Co., where audiences can enjoy the courtyard sun and freshly brewed beers, with drink specials available on the day.
The finale for the trail of shows will be held at the Subi Night Market at Market Square Park, which features over 40 international cuisines and thrift fashion stalls. From 5.30pm, the Tender Strings Quartet will accompany Ghost Care’s Beau Torrance, Seychelles Afrobeat extraordinaire Grace Barbé, and WA’s much-loved ARIA award-winning blues artist Abbe May.
Patrons are invited to bring their picnic rugs and enjoy delicious food from the stalls and stunning music under the stars.
