Stormrider Heavy Metal Festival is back for its seventh year in 2021, taking over Milk Bar on Saturday, August 14. It is a welcome return for the popular annual event after it was cancelled last year due to COVID-19. The lineup features some of Perth’s hardest hitting bands old and new, including Chaos Divine (pictured above), Silent Knight, Cold Fate, Woewarden, Legacy Alive, Icarus Lives, Midnight Furnace, and The Harvest Trail.
“There are only one or two of these kinds of afternoon/evening metal gigs per year,” Simon Mitchell from Chaos Divine explains, “so they tend to have a bit more of a party atmosphere about them and the lineups tend to be a bit more diverse than a normal metal gig.”
Fans can look forward to to a wide range of heavy sounds on Saturday night, from Silent Knight’s power metal to Icarus Lives’ melodic metal. Chaos Divine have even hinted they may perform their cover of Toto’s Africa, a live favourite they haven’t played for years.
