Emerging from a two-year period immersed in recording and rehearsal studios, September Sun have released a new single, One More Day.
It’s the first we’ve heard from the band since 2014’s debut single, Solace, One More Day is from their forthcoming EP, Of A Feather. The single itself is a moving experience, uplifting overall, but with moments of real darkness. The song is accompanied by a stunning video – directed and filmed by Clayton Orgles at the Secret Garden in Gwelup. Amidst the forest ambience, crows fly above, playfully, yet hauntingly.
“Symbolically, it takes a look at the struggles we face daily,” says vocalist, Peter Knott. “But in the extreme; whereby the scenario of being exposed to such extreme elements conjures you to meet with contemplation of harm or death.
“The crow is the avian representative to this track, the witty, playful, yet menacing symbol of death that toys at you in your darkest days and tries to break you down. I didn’t want it to be all doom and gloom, so I added in ‘the crow becomes the feast’, his sustenance to survive. So, in the end, facing death actually leads to life. Deep!
“We felt this track was catchy, emotional, and ear friendly which made it an obvious choice for the first single.”
September Sun launch One More Day at Badlands Bar on Saturday, January 28, as part of The Henhouse Rehearsal Studios’ 7th Birthday Party. Also performing will be FLOSSY, Small Town Heroes, The Tommyhawks, Lost Honours, The Belts and J.F.K. Check out the Facebook event.
