Rooftop Encore brings four weeks of live circus and cabaret to the city
The iconic Rooftop Movies space in Northbridge is set to be transformed into an exciting new performance venue this April. Artrage, the team behind Fringe World, have just announced Rooftop Encore, featuring an open-air Big Top for a four-week season of live circus and cabaret performances under the stars from Friday, April 5 to Saturday, April 27.
Set atop the CPP Roe St Carpark with sweeping views of the Perth City skyline, Rooftop Encore will showcase not one but two never-seen-before world premiere shows per night from Fringe World favourites Yuck Circus and Tone & Cheek.
“It is an honour to work with world-class local talent and shine a spotlight on some of Perth’s best entertainers as they unveil two brand new shows following their respective national tours,” said Artrage Projects Manager, Courtney Meagher. “Rooftop delivers top-notch vibes, and featuring jaw-dropping circus and slick cabaret under the stars is sure to create some truly magical moments.”

Naughties, by local legendary larrikins, Yuck Circus, will kick off evenings on the Rooftop from 6pm. This Martin Sims Award-winning troupe, renowned for their outstanding performances at Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney Fringe, are set to take audiences on a nostalgic journey back to the early 2000s. Expect a night filled with Backstreet beats, Britney brilliance, and a double dose of denim. Yuck promises a spectacular blend of high-flying acrobatics, rip-roaring comedy, and the unmistakable charm of the Y2K era.
Chase your dose of Naughties down with some disco vibes as the sensational Tone & Cheek present their latest creation Tuck Shop from 7.15pm. Tuck Shop is a dazzling fusion of circus, drag, burlesque, dance, and live vocals, woven from the indomitable spirit of its star-studded collective of world-class entertainers. Dress-up in your most glamorous sequins and be transported back in time to a place where acceptance and liberation reign supreme.
