Rebound WA Para Sport Festival returns to Yagan Square
Rebound WA Para Sport Festival is set to showcase some of the city’s most thrilling and inclusive sport and recreation options at Yagan Square on Friday, March 10 from 4-7pm.
For the second year, Rebound WA is inviting Western Australians to celebrate the strength, skill, determination and joy offered by adaptive sports including wheelchair AFL, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair basketball to blind sports, Para sailing, lawn bowls, archery, and power chair sports.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives of a range of Para sport organisations, including Paralympics Australia, Wheelchair Rugby WA, Western Electric Sporting Association, Archery WA, WA All Abilities Football Association, Bowls WA, Para sailing, and Blind Sports WA. Visitors will witness firsthand the thrill of wheelchair AFL and basketball matches and have the opportunity to try wheelchair basketball, goal ball, archery, and lawn bowls.
“For the second year, Rebound WA is proud to invite Western Australians to explore Para sport and witness the power of sport to break down barriers and bring people together,” said Rebound WA CEO, Simon Mead. “Our goal is for attendees to leave with a greater appreciation for adaptive recreation and sport options for those with physical and vision disabilities. We hope that attendees with disabilities will find ways to get active and that all attendees will be inspired to support Para sports in their own communities.”
Sponsored by the WA Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries, Rebound WA Para Sport Festival is free and open to the public, offering a fun and exciting evening for sports fans of all ages and abilities.
Rebound WA is a charitable association assisting Western Australians living with physical disability to lead fuller, more active and more connected lives.
