Pond announce national tour for tenth studio album Stung!

Perth psychedelic rock band Pond have announced they will take their new album, Stung!, on the road for a national tour this June and July.

Pond kick off the run of dates with an appearance at VIVID Sydney and will perform in Hobart, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Brisbane before returning to WA for a homecoming show at Freo.Social on Saturday, July 6.

The tour comes alongside the release of the band’s tenth studio album, Stung!, on Friday, June 21.

Today’s news is accompanied by a brand new single and video from the band, (I’m) Stung, the follow-up to last month’s Neon River.

Formed in Perth in 2008, Pond set out with an aim to create a collaborative musical project that initially saw a revolving line-up, allowing anyone they wanted to play whatever they wanted. Fast forward to 2024, and Pond have cemented themselves as a band of collaborators, releasing projects that stay consistent with their ethos.

Their forthcoming project marks a shift in the band’s creative process, with Stung! serving as a chance for the quintet to lean into playful songwriting, tinkering with sounds, and workshopping ideas before recording the album in Dunsborough in the South West.

Supporting fellow rockers Queens of the Stone Age across Australia and New Zealand as well as swiftly selling out dates across their UK and European headline tour, Pond have been teasing tracks from the new album as they tour across the globe.

Pond’s tenth studio album Stung! is out on Friday, June 21, 2024. Pond play Freo.Social on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Tickets are on sale now from moshtix.com.au
