Perth trio Ghost Care drop new indie rock gem, Never Knew

Perth trio Ghost Care are back with a brand new jangly indie rock gem, Never Knew. To celebrate the release, the band will embark on a national Australian tour this September, visiting Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne before capping it off with a show at Mojos Bar on Saturday, September 19.

“Never Knew was written for someone who is constantly giving full-time devotion to someone with zero return on investment,” said the band’s frontman, Beau Torrance. “Giving gold but receiving ghost.”

The track was written in the studio with Dave Parkin of Blackbird Studios. “It was our first time working with a sample to get inspired, and we really enjoyed that—it’s quickly become our favourite song and favourite one to play live,” said Torrance.

The new single follows on from a big year for the local three-piece. Last year marked the release of their EP Oh Positive, the introduction to their newest bandmate, Emma Joan, and their selection as part of Live Nation’s Ones To Watch program’s first foray into WA.

They also went on a national tour supporting indie-pop quartet The Tullamarines, adding to a mass of impressive support slots to date, including Spacey Jane, Teenage Dads, San Cisco, Sly Withers, The Vanns and South Summit.
