Perth International Burlesque Festival reveals all with 2024 program announce

The 11th annual Perth International Burlesque Festival (PIBF) is set to dazzle audiences with an extravagant celebration of burlesque and cabaret from Friday, September 27 to Saturday, November 9.

The festival, organised by Tease Industries, will bring a line-up of international and Australian talent to Perth and regional Western Australia, showcasing a diverse range of both emerging and established burlesque stars, with world premieres and never-before-seen acts from some of the community’s most celebrated names. By promoting local talent alongside international stars, the festival aims to propel the Perth burlesque scene onto the global stage.

This year’s event will be hosted by Queensland’s internationally acclaimed drag queen, BeBe Gunn. Festivalgoers can also look forward to performances from US headliners Samson Night, the ‘Queen of Burlesque’, and Margo Mayhem, a prominent figure in 21st Century Burlesque’s ‘Top 50 Most Influential Burlesque Figures’ and the ‘Princess of Burlesque’, both of whom are titled by the Burlesque Hall of Fame.

Kicking off the festival, The Court will host the Peep Show! Charity Showcase on Friday, September 27, an open-level teaser event to present Perth’s burlesque community, with all proceeds going to charity. Following this, they will then host the Tease Factory Opening Night on Friday, October 11.

The ‘crème de la crème’ of the festival, the Club Burlesque Gala Event, will be held at the Heath Ledger State Theatre on Saturday, October 12, promising ‘the finest, the most fabulous burlesque and cabaret ever to grace Perth stages.’

Later on that Saturday night, things will get wonderfully wild at the Glitter Crash Afterparty, hosted by Connections Nightclub and featuring Samson Night, Margo Mayhem and BeBe Gunn alongside the talents of the Burly-Q superstars, with some unannounced surprises promised to keep the party going late into the night.

Regional burlesque fans will also get a taste of the glamorous performances, with the Regional Roadshow hitting Geraldton’s Queens Park Theatre on Saturday, October 19, and Albany Port Theatre on Saturday, November 9.

Perth International Burlesque Festival 2024 hits multiple venues in Perth and regional WA from Friday, September 27 to Saturday, November 9, 2024. For more info and to buy tickets, head to perthburlesquefestival.com
