Old Mervs hit the road for debut album tour
Local indie-rock duo Old Mervs are hitting the road for a national tour to celebrate the release of their debut self-titled album, Old Mervs.
The pair will be sharing their new tracks at seventeen stops around Australia, including a massive home-state show to close the tour at Perth HPC on Saturday, July 5 with special guests The Vanns, Aleksiah and Fool Nelson.
The tour announcement comes after the release of the new single Everyone Will See It, the latest taste of their debut album, which is set for release on Friday, March 21, 2025, via Dew Process. Recorded with ARIA award-winning producer Chris Collins, the self-titled album also features Parched, What You’ve Lost, Forget It, See You Again, and a stack of new tunes.
“[Everyone Will See It] was the first song we wrote together with Chris Collins. We had some spare time at the end of the week’s recording and decided to see what we could come up with,” singer Dave House said. “It feels fresh for us, and it definitely has a different groove, which is always a nice change-up. We wanted a big chorus for a big singalong, so hopefully that’s what we get!”
Everyone Will See It’s accompanying music video is compiled of behind-the-scenes footage taken during the recording process at Collins’ studio in the Byron Hinterland. Check it out below.
The tour follows a huge year for Old Mervs in 2024, with the duo going regional with their Comin’ To A Town Near You Tour as well as their How The Fark Are Ya? Tour. In November, the band embarked on their first UK headline tour, selling out venues in London, Manchester and Birmingham.
Old Mervs’ sophomore EP, Give It Up, released in 2023, debuted at #2 in the Australian ARIA charts and has now collected over 8.2 million streams. The duo have supported major tours including Liam Gallagher, The Wombats and Spacey Jane. Old Mervs have also played slots at Groovin the Moo, Yours and Owls, Splendour in the Grass, Rolling Sets, Changing Tides and more.
