Melville warms up for a summer of live music
The City of Melville is ushering in the warmer weather with the return of its Melville Summer Music series for its fourth annual season.
The series kicked off earlier this month and runs until Saturday, March 22, with the City hosting ten free, family-friendly concerts spread across five Melville parks.
Melville Summer Music Series Co-programmer Duncan Strachan said he was looking forward to debuting the diverse range of talent in this year’s line-up.
“We always want to ensure that Melville Summer Music appeals to a wide range of audiences, so no matter the artist or genre, everyone is guaranteed to have fun.” said Strachan.
This year’s program selection of artists spans across a wide range of styles, from indie-pop and funk to folk, soul and rock.
The series will feature performances from WA acts such as popular bluegrass pioneers Hamilton Hillbillies, high-energy funk and soul band Randa and The Soul Kingdom, nostalgic soul-pop sensation Sgt. Hulka and more.
Audiences will also enjoy a guest appearance from Northern Territory rock and reggae group The Sandridge Band, who capture the unique spirit and sound of their community by combining Indigenous languages and contemporary sound.
Each location will also feature local food trucks, with guests invited to share a picnic, connect with the community, and experience the best of local live music.
