Meet WA’s most notorious eco-criminals with Fossil Fool Crime Walk

To close off the last weekend of Fringe World 2026, Fremantle Carnevale are set to host a Fossil Fool Crime Walk on Friday, February 13.

Kicking off at 6pm at Perth Magistrates Court in the CBD, the free event will see attendees meet some of WA’s most notorious real-life eco-criminals during a fun-filled satirical stroll through the heartland of the WA petrostate.

The Fossil Fool Crime Walk will also feature a CSI team, roving clowns, large-scale puppets and harlequins, a range of expert witnesses, and a live Carnival soundtrack, pumped out by Junkadelic Brass Band.

Attendees will be introduced to some of the WA petrostate’s worst fossil fuel villains, including Woodside, Chevron, and their political backing team, including ‘WA Premier Roger the Cook’, ‘Prime Minister Anthony “the Jellyfish” Albanese’, and ‘Federal Resources Minister Mad Maddy King’. The ‘WA Police Service’ will also be present, represented by ‘State Security Community Liaison Officer Sergeant Chopper Read’.

The event, celebrating a season of masquerade, transgression and mockery of the established order, encourages attendees to disguise themselves in Carnival costumes, with Carnival masks available on the night.

Fremantle Carnevale’s Fossil Fool Crime Walk hits Perth Magistrates Court in Perth CBD on Friday, February 13, 2026. For more information, head to fringeworld.com.au
