Me First and the Gimme Gimmes announce Band of the Long Weekend Tour

Punk rock’s premier cover band, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, have announced an Australian tour.

Covering nine dates across the country this spring, the Band of the Long Weekend Tour wraps up at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday, November 13.

Joining the Gimmes are the self proclaimed ‘last punk band’ Dwarves, who have been bringing their unique blend of punk, garage, thrash and experimental music to stages for around 40 years.

The Gimmes arrive in Australia armed with a new album, ¡Blow It…At Madison’s Quinceañera!

“I would like this to be considered indicative of what a live show by the Gimme Gimmes can be,” said lead singer Spike Slawson. “The only difference is that there would be people that wanted to come and see us. What happened at this show, to me, is better than unfettered, unconditional applause from a lot of people. Golf-claps from about five people is how I want to hear a live record.”

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are a punk rock supergroup and cover band that formed in San Francisco in 1995. The band’s line-up consists of Spike Slawson, CJ Ramone, Joey Cape, Pinch and John Reis. Former members include Dave Raun, Chris Shiflett and Fat Mike.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes’ Band of the Long Weekend Tour hits Astor Theatre on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Tickets are on sale Thursday, July 18 from sbmpresents.com
