KRUGER JAMES An authentically Perth viewpoint

Perth Rapper Kruger James is set to celebrate the release of his solo album, Slouching Toward Nirvana, at The Rosemount Hotel this Friday, November 10.

Including singles Cash 22 and Portrait in Rap, the album is an account of the uglier parts of human nature, a celebration of flaws and faults, both anecdotal and novelistic, narcissistic and self effacing.

Described as modern rap from an authentically Perth viewpoint, Kruger James’ tracks are reminiscent of artists such as Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. Single Cash 22, while obviously being a play on the Joseph Heller book, is also a commentary on privilege. It’s talking from a place of crumbling mental health, the realisation you’re falling apart, and have been for awhile.

Kruger James will be playing with his orchestra, sharing tracks from Slouching Toward Nirvana and new unreleased material.

Slouching Toward Nirvana is out now. Kruger James plays the Rosemount Hotel on Friday November 10.
