A fashionably tight-jeaned and cheetah shirt wearing Kav Temperley performed an unexpected and near flawless acoustic show to an intimate and enthusiastic crowd of 100 at the Dunsborough Tavern last Easter Sunday night. Eskimo Joe’s frontman performed some of the band’s biggest hits that have seen them reach mainstream status nationally with ARIA chart topping songs and years of international touring.
Perth man-about-town, Timothy Nelson – set to go on a national tour later in the year with his band – The Infidels – warmed up the stage with his cheeky attitude and ’90s inspired songs drawing an intrigued crowd.
Performing with guest, Lee Jones on his lap steel guitar- Temperley delivered a personal and enthusiastic show that connected with the crowd throughout the night. Opening with hits Sarah and New York, Temperley then performed London Bombs for the first time solo. It was followed byForeign Land with Temperley going on to talk about the song’s roots, explaining after he got back from a walk shaking off some jet lag before a show at USA’s, G’day USA he was informed of the death of Australian actor, Heath Ledger. Both hailing from Fremantle and experiencing periods of time away from home, Temperley explained how he was emotionally affected by the actor’s passing, inspiring and influencing the song in question.,
Temperley finished off his show with the 2004 hit, From The Sea with down to earth musician staying on after the show to talk to fans and locals alike.
