Jeffory Asselin’s micro-budget feature, Pinch, beat out some heavy weight competition to take home the coveted Best Feature Film – Drama at the 27th Western Australian Screen Awards last night. Asselin’s film trumped Kriv Stenders’ Kill Me Three Times, Robert Connolly’s Paper Planes and John V. Soto’s The Reckoning at the red carpet event held at the State Theatre Centre.
Comedian Joel Creasy hosted the event, which also saw the gritty documentary Prison Songs take home three prizes, including Best TV Production – Factual. Lauren Brunswick took home the McKenna Hampton Young Filmmaker Of The Year Award, while Greenfield stars Ethan Tomas and Marthe Snorresdotter Rovik scored Best Performance By An Actor and Best Performance By An Actress.
