Illuminate Yagan Square to light up the city this weekend
Celebrating one year of the Yagan Square redevelopment, Illuminate Yagan Square is set to light up the heart of the city this Saturday, April 26.
Running from 6–11pm, an electric line-up of WA talent will headline the Amphitheatre Main Stage, including Noongar electro-pop artist Boox Kid and The Voice star Sam McGovern, alongside hip hop artist Marksman Lloyd, the powerhouse crew at Boss Arts Creative, and shred guitarist Charlie Youngson. The Amphitheatre will also host the special-edition Stories pop-up bar (18+ zone).

The event will also feature an Australian-first light installation—The Lumosphere Tunnel—a fusion of creativity, innovation, and technology from trailblazing Perth-based light artist T-H-E Light Rebels. Inspired by the world-renowned Sonic Runway from Burning Man festival in the USA, the 40-metre illuminated tunnel is designed to inspire exploration, connection, and wonder through shifting light and colour within its towering three-metre arches.
From 7:00 pm, patrons can join the Silent Disco by grabbing a pair of giant glowing headphones near the Digital Tower, where a line-up of Perth DJs will be commanding the decks. The Yagan Square Mall will also feature a pop-up food zone serving sweet delights, from LED fairy floss to dreamy desserts, as the precinct is lit up by thousands of sparkling LEDs, roaming dancing divas, glowing sky dancers, and Brazilian LED drummers.
No tickets are required for this all-ages event. BYO blankets or cushions for seating in the amphitheatre, and no BYO alcohol is permitted.
Illuminate Yagan Square takes over Yagan Square from 6–11pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025. For more information, head to developmentwa.com.au
