Has the 2024 AFL Grand Final headliner been revealed?

Katy Perry is expected to headline the 2024 AFL Grand Final.

The Herald Sun reported this week that the deal to bring the pop star to the ‘last Saturday in September’ is close to being finalised.

It would be Katy Perry’s second time performing at the MCG in four years after she starred at the Women’s T20 World Cup Final in 2020.

Perry, best known for hits like Firework, Roar, Teenage Dream, and I Kissed a Girl, is expected to feature at a daytime Grand Final on Saturday, September 28, with the traditional kick-off time of 2:30pm yet to be confirmed.

Perry would join the likes of Kiss (2023), Robbie Williams (2022), the Black Eyed Peas (2018), and The Killers (2017) as recent Grand Final headline acts.

If the predictions are true, the 39-year-old pop star will arrive fresh from the release of her first album in four years, 143, which comes out on Friday, September 20.

Katy Perry is set to headline the 2024 AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
