GRUB announce debut album, release lead single Shake It

Fremantle five-piece GRUB have officially announced their self-titled debut album, due Monday, October 9, alongside the release of the record’s lead single, Shake It.

Fronted by songwriter and lyricist Matilda Beales, GRUB brings together an all-star WA lineup featuring Peter Bibby (drums), Edo Ekic (bass), Duncan Strachan (guitar) and Mitch McDonald (guitar).

The new single, Shake It, blends raw garage-punk energy with a dark-disco pulse.

“Shake It is our offering to dark disco and to dance,” said Beales. “It’s my ejection of hard feelings through a B-grade horror film.”

The track offers an early glimpse into GRUB, a nine-track debut that tackles ideas of what it means to be human, anchored by Matilda Beales’ darkly comedic songwriting.
