Glenn Musto takes debut solo album on the road

Western Australian musician Glenn Musto is heading on tour to celebrate the release of his debut solo album, Unravel. Kicking off with extensive dates in Europe and the UK, The Twin Flames Tour hits Perth’s Lyrics Underground on Friday, September 27, followed by performances in Melbourne and Sydney in October and November.

The album, which came out on Friday, August 16, is a deeply personal exploration, capturing Musto’s emotional journey from city living to life in the forest.

Blending indie, folk, rock, and lo-fi genres to explore stories of connection, trauma and healing, Unravel navigates themes of spiritual discovery, self-acceptance, and deeper human connection. Musto’s evocative songwriting depicts his struggles with the world, his relationships, and his own mental landscape, with his solo performances known for their intense delivery, often incorporating live looping and programming.

Musto, who hails from WA’s south-west, spent his early life writing music that reflected his unique worldview. He was the frontman for Perth band Showbag, where he toured Australia and shared stages with influential acts like Guided By Voices, The Mountain Goats and Dinosaur Jr.

He also gained recognition as part of the pop duo College Fall, which toured Europe extensively, and as a member of the emo rock trio The Nordeens. Now Victoria-based, Musto runs an animal sanctuary, the backdrop for his new music.

Glenn Musto’s The Twin Flames Tour hits Perth’s Lyrics Underground on Friday, September 27, 2024. For more info, head to glennmusto.net
