Grammy nominated US rapper Freddie Gibbs will tour Australia next year, hitting Astor Theatre on Friday, January 23, 2023.
Freddie Gibbs has cemented himself as one of hip-hop’s most enduring voices, known for his razor-sharp wordplay, true to life imagery and unflinching honesty. Steadily building since 2004, the Indiana-based rapper has built a die-hard global fan base and drawn critical acclaim across the world.
His discography spans an impressive 20-plus mixtapes, eight EPs, four official solo albums, and four top-billed collaborative records.
Gibbs joined forces with The Alchemist on Alfredo in 2020, landing a 2021 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album and hitting #4 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. X-Press Magazine selected the record in our Top 20 Albums of 2020, saying it was “top-shelf gangsta rap with sophisticated beats and the kind of self-aware street-level commentary that makes you wonder whether this is glorifying the lifestyle or exposing it.”
Gibbs has showed no signs of slowing down in 2022 having already released a collaborative single Hate To Say It with Azizi Gibson as well as Ice Cream featuring Rick Ross produced by Kenny Beats, along with an anticipated upcoming album SSS due for release later this year.
Freddie Gibbs hits Astor Theatre on Friday, January 23, 2023. Tickets are on sale Friday, June 10 at premier.ticketek.com.au
