Taking inspiration from the Joni Mitchell song of the same name, Both Sides Now is an opportunity for you to experience new artists and see established artists play new songs for the first time.
Curated by Around The Sound’s Andrea Thompson, this event features three artists in the intimate setting of Vinyl Cafe in Leederville.
Cecilia is a breakout Boorloo/Perth artist who is beginning to establish a presence on the east coast of Australia. Playing widescreen alt pop that has a side of punk, Cecilia will return to the recording studio later this year to lay down the tracks that will take her career to the next level. Be among the first people ever to hear her perform these new songs live.
Rachel Rose started her life in the U.S. of A. and grew up in Boorloo/Perth. Starting out her musical career in Naarm/Melbourne as a drummer, Rose played with 60s garage girl band, Doll Squad. Switching to guitar, Rose developed her craft as a songwriter and played with some of the greatest the Melbourne scene had to offer. Now back in the west, Rose has just released her first solo EP, ‘Lesson’ and fronts Boorloo/Perth band Dream Polaroid.
Cooper Jones stylise themselves as two blokey blokes who play folky folk for the people, y’all. Both experienced troubadours, Myki Jones and Marshall Cooper have had their musical fingers in all flavours of pie from indie pop to thrash metal. Now a duo, they sling acoustic guitars, sing sublime harmonies and create the vibe of a 60s New York coffee house.
