As we gear up for the holiday season, schedules are filling up by the minute. We’re making it that little bit harder for you by offering up some quality suggestions for entertainment in Perth this week. Many of these events came in through our [email protected] email, where we’re always looking for your ideas of what should go in our Event Guide. Shoot through a message if there’s anything you’d like to see in there in the coming weeks or months.
1. Pridefest 2018 Parade & After Party
The Court is kicking on following the Pride parade on Saturday night, opening up Beaufort Street for a late-night celebration of music, drag, drinks and fun. This massive undertaking is bound to be a hit; get your tickets now before they’re gone.
Taking over Red Hill Auditorium with their timeless debut album Silent Alarm in tow, Bloc Party are set to show Perth why they have been one of the biggest British indie names in the past (almost) twenty years. Supporting them will be Haiku Hands.
3. Stella Donnelly
Our homegrown hero Stella Donnelly is fresh off her USA/Europe tour and ready to wow hometown audiences once again. Stella is debuting her live band in this run of shows, and will be at Mojos Bar on Thursday and Friday night.
A seminal part of the early 90s grunge scene over the pond, The Breeders have blessed the world with a new album this year and are touring the globe as even further reward. They stop off at Capitol next Wednesday, November 28, and you can even expect one or two Pixies covers in the mix.
5. Local launches
This week in local launches is a choc-a-bloc one. Some of the highlights include the release of Wayward Johnson & the Adjustments’ EP at the Bayswater Bowls Club, Rcadia‘s album at The Sewing Room, Sunday Silence‘s album at the Bassendean Hotel, Segue‘s album at The Bird, Sgt. Hulka‘s single at Four5Nine, and These Winter Nights‘ single at The Bird. For more, check out our guide and head on over to these gigs to cheer on the artists and their support acts.
