City and Colour announces Australian tour with Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
Canadian singer, songwriter and performer City and Colour will tour Australia in January 2025, alongside dynamic US eight-piece Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
Playing shows from coast to coast, City and Colour will kick off the tour in Brisbane and play Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping up at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Thursday, January 23.
Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys will warm up the audience in Perth, while Alex Lahey will support on the east coast and Adelaide dates.
Next year’s visit will mark Green’s nineteenth tour of Australia, having previously visited ten times as City and Colour and another eight times with the band Alexisonfire.
This time around, City and Colour will arrive with new material from his seventh studio album, The Love Still Held Me Near, which came out last year.
“The Love Still Held Me Near was born out of unimaginable loss and the subsequent journey through the grief and heartache that followed,” said Dallas Green. “It’s about digging deep down into yourself and attempting to unearth hope and light in the things that can comfort you through those times. For me, that has always been writing and recording music, so that’s exactly what I did.”
Joining the tour as special support on all Australian dates, contemporary rock ‘n roll eight-piece Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will arrive on the back of their fourth album, South Of Here. Following And It’s Still Alright, Rateliff’s 2020 solo LP, and The Future, The Night Sweats’ 2021 release, the new album showcases the vivid storytelling and rugged R&B revivalism that has won them fans across the world over the past decade.
City and Colour and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats play Red Hill Auditorium on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Tickets are on sale Wednesday, September 25 from frontiertouring.com/ccnr
