Be our guest: Beauty and the Beast brings Broadway magic to Perth

Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast is on its way to Perth, hitting the stage at Crown Theatre from Thursday, July 24.

Brought to life by the producers behind hit stage sensations Aladdin, Frozen, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins, the adaptation of the Disney classic has already drawn crowds of more than one million people across Australia with its lavish costumes and Broadway-style choreography, with all music being performed live by a full orchestra.

“We are thrilled to bring Beauty and the Beast, as re-imagined by members of the brilliant original creative team, to Adelaide and Perth for the very first time,” said Anne Quart, Executive Producer for Disney Theatrical Group. “This beloved show and Belle herself are somehow as contemporary today as when they were first brought to the stage in 1994…we cannot wait to bring this cherished story to two of our favourite Australian cities.”

Based on the Oscar-winning 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast originally opened on Broadway in 1994, where it ran for over 13 years, making it one of the top 10 longest-running shows in Broadway history. With iconic numbers like Belle, Gaston, Human Again, and the show-stopping Be Our Guest, the production has toured to 37 countries worldwide.
