Alvvays bring national tour, and acclaimed album ‘Blue Rev’ to Perth

Alvvays will make their first trip down under since the release of their acclaimed third album Blue Rev this summer. The Canadian indie-rockers will play at The Rechabite in Northbridge on Thursday, December 14.

Arriving five years after their last album, Antisocialites, Blue Rev landed at #8 in X-Press Magazine’s Top Albums of 2022, where we described the record as “short, sharp blasts of beautiful indie pop noise…with a fine coat of ethereal splendour.”

The band’s unorthodox recording process for Blue Rev brought their sound to new heights, producing a record that is simultaneously immediate and intricate. Collaborating with fellow Canadian Shawn Everett (The Killers, The War On Drugs and Kacey Musgraves), Alvvays were encouraged to embrace spontaneity by recording the album straight to tape before spending an obsessive amount of time filling in the cracks, roughing up the surfaces and mixing the results.
