Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has confirmed, during a U.S. radio interview, that the band will embark on an official farewell tour in 2017.

Guitarist and foil Joe Perry isn’t so certain, though, telling Rolling Stone magazine in April that whilst “a farewell tour is something we’ve talked about doing for years, let’s say roughly in the last five years,” that “at this point, the five of us have never sat down and said, ‘It’s time to do it.’ So ‘considering’ is an appropriate word for that statement. A farewell tour is definitely not confirmed.”

Aerosmith have not exactly been busy reaching past glories in recent years – arguably decades – and with Perry busy with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp in their all-star Hollywood Vampires project, and Tyler about to tour his debut country single, We’re All Somebody From Somewhere, and a history of public bickering between the two, nothing is certain from this point on.
